HOW IS IT?
The circuit links 4 refuges, Certascan, Pinet, Vall-Ferrera and camping-refuge Bordes de Graus as well as to pass through the village of Tavascan and make a route by the new Parc Natural de l'Alt Pirineu as well as by the l'Ariège.
The accumulated unevenness is about 10.000 metres in a distance of 70 kms., and with 4 stages of more than 1100 m. of ascent.
The novelty and the importance of this circuit regarding another existent routes carries out about different aspects:
· The ascent to the highest peak of Catalonia, the Pica d'Estats of 3143 metres, as well as another peaks that having less altitude are also interesting, like the peak of Montcalm of 3077 metres, the Certascan of 2853 metres, and the Broate of 2736 metres.
· The route of places so interesting like the lake of Certascan, that is the bigest natural lake of the Pyrenees, the Pla de Boavi, the Pla de Boet, the shepherd's houses of Noarre, the Blaus lakes, the Sotllo, the Estats, etc.
· The union of two countries in the same route into their regions of the Ariège and the Pallars Sobirà.
· Is the first circuit projected by the Parc Natural de l'Alt Pirineu, recently constituted.
· The distance and the harshness of the stages, with an unevenness more sudden and sustained than anothers.
· The weather, very severe, the lack of pathes not much good marked, the snow, etc.
The refuges offers us comfort and in the case of necessity if we don't do the peaks, we can shorten some stages.
All the refuges offers us their services minimum from the 15 of June until the 15 of September, between the 7 and the 20 hours, where we could sleep, eat or drink.
